Gerze (改则), Ngari Prefecture

Nestled in the northwestern part of Tibet at an elevation of approximately 4,500 meters, Gerze is a remote county in Ngari Prefecture known for its pristine high-altitude wilderness. This sparsely populated region features vast grasslands, snow-capped peaks, and numerous sacred lakes that reflect the deep blue Tibetan sky.

As the administrative center of Ngari, this frontier town is situated at the confluence of the Gar and Indus Rivers, serving as an important gateway to sacred Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar.
